I recently completed an AHRC Funded PhD at Kingston University, UK exploring the use of crowdsourcing in museums and galleries. Developing out of previous digital curatorial positions in the field, My PhD research meant exploring current crowdsourced cultural projects in the context of contemporary neoliberalism, and developing ways future projects could function more co-creatively, critically and meaningfully. Theoretical work undertaken for my thesis was extended and informed through a range of digital curatorial projects and residencies, undertaken alongside my PhD. My current Postdoctoral Fellowship at Southampton Solent University continues this work, exploring the theory and practice of co-creation in cultural and creative projects.
